What I had in mind is that there are 2^9 = 512 different ways of putting X and O on a tic tac toe board. Many of these are not possible outcomes of a game, so I figured
it would reduce to something in the 100s.

Re: Time Predictions
As a nod to a memorable LLD Season 5 tangent I will make my prediction in hexadecimal: 2AF3 seconds (ps-I have no idea what I'm talking about) For those of you who prefer your decimals with no "hex": Let's see: A = 10, and F = 15, so 2AF3 = 3 + 15*16 + 10*16^2 + 2*16^3 = 10995 seconds = 183.25 minu...

My problems with this story: 1. Even though smokey can have the memories of those he imitates, I don't think he shares their motivations. The smokey version of Locke is different from Locke, and probably wouldn't care about resolving Locke's daddy issues, or proving his worth to "the island". 2. Chr...

I would say if you don't find the main character interesting, then the movie will fail for you. It is not a movie with a lot of plot or action. I actually liked the main character, I just though if he had killed a couple more people along the way I would've been more satisfied, lol. Interesting. Th...

Re: best movies of the 2000s
Paranormal Activity is a good example of my favorite kind of horror movie. Many find this kind of movie unsatisfying, (the Blair Witch Project has a large group of detractors as well), but I feel the opposite. I can't really defend it more, if you don't like the initial gimmick, it is probably hopel...
Re: Season 4
No, not at all. I just said that because 2 out of 3 of my predictions were right, making the finale seem predictable, but then they throw in something I never would have guessed. Looking back on this season, I do think it lacked narrative tension comparable to previous seasons. But, that was an ama...

Wow. In giving this consideration I'm dismayed at how few movies I was impressed by. I certainly agree on the two Lynch's - Mulholland was especially mind-blowing. Memento & No Country would make my list, too. The only things I feel strongly about adding are: The Lord of the Rings trilogy The Dark ...

The only ones I've seen on that list are Juno and Eternal Sunshine, I liked both, though not as much as some. best movies of the 2000s
I generally think lists like this are pointless, this one included. But it is interesting to me to look back on a decade and assess its output. My general impression is that the 2000s were marked by the rise of TV as the primary source for exciting, original stories and characters. I still think TV ...
Re: Season 4
They really blew it with last weeks preview. They gave away the entire plot of this weeks episode, including the ending. They are still slightly pushing the Quinn=Doakes angle. I assume this will become an issue next season. Maybe they are gearing up to do season 2 "the right way". The killer reveal...
Re: Season 4
I've enjoyed the season overall. Once they hit Act 2 and it became about the Dexter/Lithgow relationship I realized they WERE repeating the theme of the last 2 seasons. I'll give them credit, they are trying to change it up. Last episode, Quinn (I guess he's a character now) became the new Doakes. I...

It doesn't look low rent to me, and aside from some unfortunate fashion choices, it doesn't look old to me either. They have definitely mirrored shots before, for example, the shot of Desmond in Widmore's office in "flashes before your eyes". The 'namaste' painting appears to switch sides of the room because of this. I have no idea why they did that, though. On the other hand, production errors have already been...

Horace took Sawyer to the rec room and it has a pool table, which the processing center doesn't. I don't think they are supposed to be the same room. I could definitely buy that they just redecorate the set and shoot both rooms in the same place. Or I'm wrong...again....

I agree that the answers weren't that great. Apparently the opera house was just some obtuse vision of the future. On the other hand, as opposed to lost, I think that BSG works as a character-centric drama alone, and the final resolutions for the characters were great. The mysteries of BSG were neve...
