Ethan off island is proof that the island doesn't immediately sink upon the bomb imposion. I'm guessing Dharma got off the island and maybe even some others. There's a recap of the finale on ABC.com and they identify the statue as Tawaret. I guess that confirms it. Tawaret is the one that actually is depicted as a hippo, and Sobek as a crocodile.
