i thought it sucked. its so painful to watch them fill in these gaps of useless "mysteries" (or if they are relevant, thats pretty pathetic) this season. i let it slide for a while but once it came back from the "break" these last few have been uninspiring. the dialog and motives are so contrived a...

Re: What did you think of this episode?
One of the big problems that I had with the time travel explanation that Miles gave to Hurley is that Miles made a statement like "Once Ben turned that wheel, time isn't a straight line for us". Miles shouldn't know anything about the wheel turning. Even if Miles has somehow found out about the whe...

They have definitely mirrored shots before, for example, the shot of Desmond in Widmore's office in "flashes before your eyes". The 'namaste' painting appears to switch sides of the room because of this. I have no idea why they did that, though. On the other hand, production errors have already bee...

Here's my take on the time travel discussion you guys had towards the end of the podcast. What ever happened, happened and paradoxes can't go together. The way that LOST is telling the story, paradoxes just aren't possible. Using the "Sayid the Decapitator" example. Sayid has the full ability to cut...

I completely agree with Justin's assessment on Richard.
I have suspected for some time now that they intended to make Richard look younger in that scene from season 3. When everyone decided that he must be ageless, the writers wrote that into the story.

It seems like Darlton can't really decide if they want parallel universes or a completely non-changeable timeline without paradoxes ... That's the exact feeling I got after listening to the podcast. On one hand, you've got Ben handing Sayid a book called A Separate Reality. On the other hand you've...

I don't think this is the case. Although I strongly believe the whatever happened, happened stuff is what's goin on, for the people that think that change is possible, Ben could be dead. Alternate timelines created, paradox galore, if you subscribe to the theory of being able to change things, ther...

Re: Apparently, Sayid Doesn't Know The Rules Yet
Regardless of which theory of time travel you subscribe to, Ben can't be dead. If It Happened, It Always Happened We know Ben's alive through at least 2007, therefore we know he survived the time he was shot as a boy. This makes the meeting of Sayid and Henry Gale in the Swan even weirder. Ben had t...

Based on the rules, Ben can't be dead. He'll survive. If 2007 Ben took off his shirt, he'd likely have a bullet hole scar on his chest.

After rewatching, I agree. I think they are meant to be separate rooms, even if they are filmed in the same room. The two rooms being the same was pretty much the crutch of this theory, so I'll say I don't really believe it anymore. Still doesn't explain the numbers, though.

I went back and checked. The reck room from seasons 3 and 4 is the same room as the Dharma processing room and the same room that Sun, Frank, and Christian are in, in 2007. This could suggest a change, or it could suggest that they used the same room to film both scenes, but don't intend it to be th...

Radzinsky seems like a paranoid man. Jin came in acting all weird, so Radzinsky was very suspicious and/or curious what he was up to. I've also heard a theory that Radzinsky is a mole for the hostiles. If that's the case, he may have been trying to save the life of one of his people. Once he realize...

I highly doubt that this is the case because if it is true it opens a whole new can of worms. If Danielle did not record the message her story was probably completely different. We know that they are in 2007 based on the "thirty years earlier" screen when they cut to 1977. We know that the present day is 2007 because Jack told Sawyer it had been three years since the helicopter. The helicopter scene happened at the end of 2004. This was the worst episode of the season. Just too much setup, not enough stuff happening. Another thought: If there is in fact changes now, maybe they were caused by Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid being sent back to 1977. Maybe since they time traveled from off the island, the rules are different? I don't think I believe this, but it's an alternative to Desmond changing things.

A Dent In "If It Happened, It Always Happened"
Throughout this season we've been shown that everything we know in the present (2004) has already taken into account actions from their time travel to the past. They themselves can die because even though they exist in 2004, that the past for them. What they can't do is kill a younger version of someone we know exists in 2004.
