Hey all, we hope you're enjoying our commentary series. I know we are!
Hopefully the audio levels and syncing have been fine for you all. But if not let us know!
Also, if there's anything we can do to make the series better...

Hey C&J,

It's great to hear you guys again!

I just listened to the 'New Man in Charge' commentary. Good stuff. It was fun hearing Claude's real-time reaction along with Justin's hindsight reactions. I, like Claude, waited a long time after it came out to watch it. Ultimately, I thought it was pretty ridiculous. I expected more of a Hurley & Ben strolling about The Island having an info-dump type convo. Whatever, though.

Since I exhausted myself with interpretation in the wake of the show I haven't watched any LOST. Of course my gf's bitter disappointment with The End hasn't been fertile ground for engaging in re-watching. Instead we've been watching The Wire (awesome), Boardwalk Empire (meh), The Walking Dead (ok), Breaking Bad (pretty good so far), Doctor Who (sentimental attachment), & Torchwood (not bad). You guys doing a commentary series is certainly incentive enough for me to rewatch LOST :)

Technical feedback: sound quality isn't as crisp as before. Different recording setup? Regardless, I'd listen to you guys even if you were vague, occasionally nonsensical, disembodied whispers. It's good to have you back!

It's a nice change from the usual more in-depth analysis. Like Stephen said, I wouldn't even bother rewatching it without the commentary.

I'm still loving the commentary podcasts. Thanks for those- they are a lot of fun! I'm slowly re-watching Lost, but even when I don't watch an ep, I still listen to your podcast. =)

Ugh Season 6! I can understand others lack of interest. Upon first view of The End, I was on the "Oh, it was beautiful" train. It still does have a touching ending, but now that more time has passed, I'm not as impressed. Now when ever I re-watch Season 6- I skip right pass all the sideways! It is a lot more enjoyable that way. Atleast for me it is. lol

I did watch "The New Man in Charge" I enjoyed it, but I also thought we would see more of the Island. I wish they would have given us some Island stuff. I guess for me the Island was as much of a character as the actual characters. Most of the stuff in "The New Man in Charge" seemed like stuff we either already assumed, or could have figured out for ourselves. But, oh well- it is all good! We did get some WALLLTTTT, so that made me happy! =D

Hey Y'All. I'm still catching up on the commentary podcasts. Thanks, C&J, for providing episode audio. I'm kind of re-listening rather than rewatching. I figure I've seen them all enough to know what's happening.

First thing I love from the commentary podcasts: the idea that Kate's alias of Annie is actually Ben's Annie! It makes no sense, of course, but I appreciate the connection.

Second thing I love from the commentary podcast: the idea that Walt made the rain stop so Michael could go look for Vincent. It never occurred to me before, it makes sense (within the vague parameters of Walt's 'specialness'), and it's cool!

Third thing I love from the commentary podcast: the suspenseful-shaking-bushes-fakeout tally. You can do the same for such staples as "Breathe!" or "Why are you telling me this?"

Listening to Walkabout I was reminded of an unexpressed thought from season 6. Is it possible that the writers originally planned for The Man in Black to take over Locke (or his image) in the confrontation scene? We never see or get a specific account of what happened. After Locke was presumed dead we get the first appearance of Christian and when Jack runs to him he, instead, finds Locke (with a boar, no less). Could that Locke have been MIB? Could all the "cool" Locke moments from season 1 been MIB? There's plenty of logical reasons why that wouldn't work but it seems possible to me that the writers didn't have it all figured out back then. Then they had to stall for five seasons with tangents and newer ideas until they could get back around to the MIB idea they planted in season 1. Of course, by then the pile of details weren't coherent or consistent enough to make the original idea work. Just throwin' it out there for consideration and speculation.

Keep up the great work. I'm going to listen to the next two, now :)

When I saw a 1:47 running time ona :43 episode I was psyched! I love the post-episode conversation. Way better than wrapping it as soon as the ep's over. It feels like old-school Claude & Justin! It's interested to put these old ep's in perspective with The End. Thanks for connecting some new dots. Charlie's empty guitar case and The Man In Black impersonating the guitar was a stroke of genius :)

'Soiltary' commentary was awesome. 2 hours of discussion on a 6 year old episode that you already covered twice! It was like the old days :) Going back with the perspective of hindsight tempts me to take on the role of editor/re-writer to tie up loose ends and resolve conflicting information. C&J - these commentaries and subsequesnt conversations kind of do that so this is fascinating to me. Your discussion of this ep. in the context of Jacob and MIB motivations was especially fantastic (and fun). Thanks so much!

If MIB doesn't send Richard to fix Locke's bulletwound it could create a time paradox, the results of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum, and destroy the entire universe! Granted, that's a worse case scenario. The destruction might in fact be very localized, limited to merely our own galaxy.

Another fine commentary podcast ('Raised By Another')! It was nice to hear Jen again. I, too, have had to develop my doppellisten for these commentaries. I agree with you guys that a lot of the long-standing, cool mysteries didn't pay off. In fact, I find myself having to pull out of a minor depression when I hear you guys point out just how many holes there are. Here are a few mysteries that did pay off for me. SPOILER ALERT (ha :) ): 1)Anthony Cooper is the real Sawyer 2)It was Widmore that planted the fake wreckage 3)The Runway 4)Montand's arm. Lookin' forward to the next one!

I was worried that you guys wheren't going to continue your podcast after The End. It's good to see you guys back still in top form. I do enjoy the option of episode audio and just the commentary (it's easier to watch along with episode without the episode audio in the podcast) and hope you guys will continue to upload both.
However I do have one problem, your slandering of Australian money, as an Australian I do like our money and think it's looks good. Funny fact, Claire states that Malkin took her $200 when she only gave him $145.
Anyway those are my thoughts, it probably won't be the last, but keep up the good work!

Big smiles on 'All the Best Cowboys...' commentary. 'Yay!' for the Green Room. It could be a regular feature... I like the idea of Island-Magic-Grow-Walt. It's no less plausible than other stuff. Here's a thought about the 'Quarantine' stencil on the inside of the Swan hatch (and yes I mean hatch, not station). What if Kelvin put it there after finding Desmond for the purpose of bolstering his cover story about contamination? That way he could keep Des inside and work on the boat in secrecy. It's a ret-con but a good one. Also, the position that LOST works because everything is hearsay and interpretation is hilarious. What if Flash-Sideways Christian was only presenting his interpretation about why all the Losties were gathered in the church but he was as wrong as Dogen's interpretation about MIB? What if the Encyclopedia's explanations are only its own interpretations and the Encylopedia's wrong?! Thanks for the great work guys!

I didnt want to do the rewatch with Jay and Jack, or with any podcasters for that matter, because... well lets face it. As much as I loved the show and enjoyed the ride.. it makes no sense. So rewatching looking for clues is pointless. There are none. I really feel like the writers mistake with this show was that they spent too much time on the internet interacting with fans and I really think they changed the plot regularly as they went along based on what the audience had so far figured out, and based on what they thought we wanted to see according to internet discussion.

I think this was a fun ride for all of us, and I think in the end they wrapped it up the way they did partly because they'd painted themselves into a good few corners, and partly because we all were going to miss these characters and the endless speculation.

As much as I loved the finale (I did!), I'm not denying that they pretty much didn't answer anything, and the things that they did manage to explain were all sort of vague and perhaps didn't actually make any sense at all.

For some reason I'm happy to hear you guys do a rewatch from a critical perspective, because you guys know it didn't make any sense and don't try and make up theories for why it does make sense (when it just doesn't). I mean, sometimes you do, but its all just in fun I think and you dont really believe you can make sense of it, do you?

I can't wait till you get to the part about Eko's polar bear. That will be a highlight for sure.

For me, I like the parts best where you speculate about how the writers were thinking something different when they wrote this part and then changed it later. Because I think that's the only interesting theorizing left to do on this show.

I hope one day we get the full story from the folks who worked on the show. I feel like they almost have to admit that they couldn't find a way out at the end, shouldn't have introduced more new characters in season 6 that they didn't know what to do with or how to get rid of, should have given Locke a heroes death or at least a death that we all understood was really final for real, and explained a whole lot things they just never did.

I feel like they should have, at some point, admitted that they couldn't make it work.
I imagine we'll get "LOST: The True Hollywood Story" one day. I hope so.

'Whatever the Case May Be' - Yeah, I don't much care for this backstory, or most of Kate's really. I agree she's pretty boring. It's odd, too, considering Jack was supposed to die in the pilot and she was going to be the "main" character. What were they thinking? I wonder if some of Jack's traits were originally Kate's until they rewrote it to make Jack the "lead."

The song Shannon translated was 'Beyond the Sea.' Bobby Darin did an english version. I know it from Steve Martin's 'LA Story.' I have no idea what computer cartoon fish movie it was in (I was thinking Little Mermaid but I don't think that works). The lyrics certainly resonate with the whole lost, ocean island thing but it also calls to mind the Mother story title, 'Across the Sea.'

I'm liking the connection between Charlie's and Jacob's 'Help me.' Although I hate ghost-Michael's explanation of The Whispers, perhaps what Locke heard in the cabin what a super-concentrated whisper/echo from Charlie's ghost, trying to ask Lock'es help in saving the Island ghosts (OK, that was about two and a half buckets of barf right there - LLD Call back!).

And, while we're at it, maybe it's all a dream within a dream within a dream within...and Jack's being Incepted! If Kate's totem:the plane, then; Sayid:Nadia photo ; Ben:Annie's wooden sculpture ; Charlie:Driveshaft ring ; Sawyer:the letter ; Mr. Eko:Jesus stick...(ok, i'm out of ideas).

Keep up the great work guys :)

'Heart and Minds'

I really liked the two new theories about Boone's experience. I'd like to think that Shannon really was the Smoke Monster when Boone encountered her because it really is a remarkable similarity to Richard's experience with Isabella. However, since it violates the person-has-to-be-dead-to-be-impersonated rule we have to throw it out (or the rule...). The other theory is pretty cool, though, too - that Locke was trying to lure Smokey for his own edification and an alibi in Boone.

The third theory that I still kind of wish they would have pursued is that Locke is actually Smokey from the beginning (Walkabout) and MIB is putting his plan into place from the start. Although there's plenty of holes in this (though not many more than in the actual "answers") this episode is one that could support that theory. I still kind of think the writers may have intended this and then stalled it once they realized the show was going to keep going indefinitely. By the time they threw all sorts of new stuff in the pot it was too far gone to make it work right. Ah, LOST ennui...

Unfortunately, the show, in its entirety, certainly does seem like hastily thrown together macaroni art. My elementary school teachers would give it the old grade of 'U' for incomplete. (I do still love it, though) It is an Equal Opportunity Disappointment show. What's your Personal Lost Disappointment Quotient (PLDQ)? I think I'm an LMCE (meaning my four biggest disappointments were Locke's crappy arc, Smoke Monster inconsistencies, Christian not being buried, and Eko not having a better/bigger role).

Homecoming

Great Green Room, guys!

So the idea of Locke as the leader of The Others was ostensibly created in a loop. On the Official Podcast D&C stated definite intention regarding the compass's existence in a loop. It seems that you guys had to have covered this at some point but it dawned on me as fresh when I was listening: what if these loops are indicative of Man In Black's loop...hole?! I don't know how it works exactly but it sounds like a reasonable leap.

Evolving the "Deleted Scene" concept to "Deleted Episode" is hilarious and would explain a lot.

I loved Justin's 'Digital Mailbag' jingle bumper :)

Also, your mentioning of Ethan as Tom Cruise's cousin reminded me - I recently rewatched 'Minority Report' and Ethan has a bit role as a hotel desk clerk and has a brief scene w/ Cruise. It was an awesome little crossover. I never would have known he was Cruise's cousin if you guys hadn't mentioned it way back when.

Thanks for the great stuff!

Outlaws

Wow, I did not expect Claude & Justin's Philosophy Lowdown! Well, my short answer is that I'd rather be 815'd than 316'd. On the question of suffering I'd like to cite this season 5 conversation:

SAWYER: … That light in the sky–it was from the Hatch, wasn’t it?
LOCKE: The night that Boone died. I went out there and started pounding on it as hard as I could. I was… confused… scared. Babbling like an idiot, asking, “Why was all this happening to me?”
SAWYER: Did you get an answer?
LOCKE: Light came on, shot up into the sky. At the time, I thought it meant something.
SAWYER: Did it?
LOCKE: No. It was just a light.
SAWYER: So why’d you turn us around then? Don’t you wanna go back there?
LOCKE: Why would I wanna do that?
SAWYER: So you could tell yourself to do things different, save yourself a world of pain.
LOCKE: No, I needed that pain to get to where I am now.

I like the idea that the boar was, in fact, Man in Black. I can't wait until we get to Kate's horse to hear the new hindsight theories :)

Also, it was great to hear the 'Conference is scheduled to be broken down in...5...minutes' guy. Four hours for the first time in rewatch mode - awesome! Keep up the great work, guys.

Hey Y'all - #100 was great! I really enjoyed the live chat during the podcast. I'm already missing C&J on this summer hiatus :( I can't wait any longer so I'm picking up where we left off and watching Deus Ex Machina on this restless Thursday afternoon. Here's my notes to whet your appetites and tempt C&J out of hiatus...

Private Detective to Locke: "Look, this probably won't have a happy ending."

This is the ep. with Jack's line about Sawyer, "..and if I'm really lucky a snappy new nickname."

Sayid solders Sawyer's glasses! (I could have said 'specs' but I hate alliteration)

The voice on the radio Boone finds in the Beechcraft does not sound like Bernard.

Good consistency and foreshadowing w/ the long con - Locke's mom relates Cooper saying that the kidney donation had to be Locke's idea.

One of Giachino's best moments is the final minutes of this ep.

I still don't know why Locke's legs stopped working.

OK, until next time...

C&J - I was gonna give you until 9/22 to before harassing you guys to come back but you beat me to it!

Great to hear Claude & Justin again. Good episode, good podcast. Jen was, again, on fire w/ wit in the guest role. Nice job on 'Do No Harm,' C&J! Here's my rambling reactions:

Jack's biology training in terms of Italian food was hilarious. Nice connection to his piano playing later in the series. "Budding LeFleur" - HA! It was nice to hear one ofthe classic LOST "Breathe!" instances :) In general I was OK with Sawyer witnessing Aaron's birth in season 5, actually liked it. You do, though, make a good point that if they set it up in season 1 the way you proposed it would have been a mind-blowing payoff. Similarly, the possibility of Aaron being Ethan or some other bizarre connection between eras was a pretty cool idea. Overall D&C weren't the best time travel writers. There's so much cool stuff they could have done with it. I guess it's hard to do because even Doctor Who, which is entirely based on time travel, only occasionally reaches true awesomeness in that regard. And yes, Jack does seem to have a 'fix 'em and leave 'em' modus operandi. Nice call. Looking forward to the home stretch of season 1 commentary!

C&J - Nice podcast on everybody's favorite the LOST episode 'Sides' :D I love it when we can cite Candidate death-immunity in the face of first season peril (before Damon and Carlton probably ever even conceived of it). I think we'll be hearing more of that... I did find Walt's speculation about shark attacks on the raft interesting considering the DHARMA shark's appearance in season 2. I see the next podcast is already posted and is close to two hours :) :) :) I'm looking forward to continued commentary! Thanks, guys.

Claude & Justin - Fun stuff to wrap up the season one commentary podcasts. That scene where Sawyer tells Jack about meeting Christian is really fantastic. It may be too lenient but I could almost accept a case from Damon & Carlton that that scene is all the resolution that Jack needs regarding his father, hearing that Christian said Jack was a better doctor. I really wish they had found a way for the season one smoke monster noises to make sense with the ultimate explanation (or lack of). Interesting comment that Michael's engineering skills overlapped, to some degree, with Sayid. Perhaps that played into their decision to write him off. The music to end part one of Exodus is one of the best Giachino exxamples from the whole show. I don't have a problem with the final shot of the smoke on the horizon. It is definitely amusing that the first in-show explanation of the Black Rock's inland location (tsunami-like wave, proposed by Arzt) was actually correct. :D The season one finale was great because there was so much mystery ahead, so much possibility. Looking forward to season 2 commentary :) Good times, good times.

Hooray! Season 2 (my personal fav) commentary has begun! Yes, you can get a 'Hatch Hatch!'

It's interesting to keep in mind that (we later find out) that just moments before Jack met Desmond on the stadium steps Penny had finally tracked down Des ("with enough time and money...") for the first time since his release from prison. I really wish they had explored that thread (Des's crime & punishment) further. We can infer it was related to his going AWOL in 'The Constant' but, as Claude pointed out about poor tying together of threads, they never gave us that line. Why the hell was Walt wet?! Regarding the power (electricity, etc.) on The Island, I'm pretty sure there was a throw-away line (maybe in 'The Other Woman') that basically said DHARMA was able to harness Island energy. Or it was giant hamsters in giant wheels... I agree that the Pearl was the true psychological experiment, mainly because of the Orientation video and the way Dr. Candle/Halliwax/Chang phrases his description of the experiment. Why the uncollected notebooks? Who knows. If only there really were a 'No Bullshit' version of LOST... Regardless, I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of Season 2 commentary! Thanks Claude & Justin :) :) :)

Good podcast, guys, a very appropriate 108. I had no idea this one was originally supposed to be a Sawyer flashback. Thanks for that trivia. I love the speculation that Christian forged Jack's entire career, to the point that Jack considers clothing deterioration evaluation as part of his medical expertise :D "Caught in a current" - ha! I'm gonna hold you to that projection of a 2017 commentary completion... :) But first, looking forward to 'Orientation' (and, a little later, 'What Kate Dud')

A PhD, eh? well, I guess that takes slight priority over LOST commentary...

'Orientation' - a classic :) I agree that the back-story is not the greatest complement to the on-Island story. However, just getting to the orientatin film itslef is rewarding enough! Lots of good tangents in the pre- and post-episode discussion. Those Others really were a mess... Jacob really was kind of a d-bag... One thing we can take solace in, though, is that Sayid was one cool mutha...

Looking forward to the next episode :)

Yay! Claude & Justin are back (and in the same room) :) I was really missin' ya. Nice 'Everybody Hates Hugo' podcast. I like the idea that Hurley's opening dream is Man In Black related, although I have no idea as to why that would be the case... Thanks for adding the mystery of Charlie's alleged $900 trillion worth to the big list of unanswered questions ;) I actually thought Starla's speech was quite poignant ~ "If Hurley quits his job, then the next ya know bees'll stop making honey, flowers will die, etc." Very Butterfly Effect and meta/microcosmic when considering Hurley's ultimate destiny and that of the island. (thanks again for including episode audio!) Thanks, also, for pointing out the D stroy in this episode - Kate's Special Day :D If the Arrow station is just a cave with a door, what's keeping it from being another Fatch? I do think this is a good episode because of the insight on Hurley's mental disposition. Sure he overreacts with fear and paranoia - that's his condition. I really do feel for him and deel that the word 'crazy' is far too often misused and abused. This was a nicely written (albeit fluffy) ep w/ good acting from Jorge. I also love, love, love the Giachino piece that closes the ep, Hurley's Handouts. Just listening to the podcast (the second time, no less) and hearing the score and remembering the looks on the characters faces when Bernard is revealed actually got me teary. OK, go get that PhD out of the way so we don't have to wait forever for LLD. Thanks and keep up the great stuff!

Dot Dot Dot and Found

Wow, pretty slow ep. I don't mind Sun & Jin character development but man there is little else in this one. I think Kate's eagerness about the messages from the bottle was anxiety that someone might have ratted her out (although that's just my recollection spurred by listening to the podcast, not watching). Also, it was the classic example of LOST writing that you guys have cited before - "It's the bottle. The bottle from the raft. The bottle from the raft with the messages. The bottle from the raft with the messages with potentially incriminating accusations about Kate's legal status..." Goodwin! And, yes, the ridiculous myth about The Others not leaving footprints was born here, by Mr. Eko...perhaps he was basing this statement on off-screen run-ins with Smoke Monster Yemi...? Anyway, thank for the podcast guys :)

The first “Death Picnic” – ha! I was not a big Shannon fan so I was totally fine with her being killed off. However, I’m sure we’ll all lovingly remember her for her ongoing love for and talent in dancing, which was so thoroughly woven into her character throughout the series ;) Ah, the maddening Wet Walt appearances...yeah, I'm not a fan of this episode (but I love most of Season 2). Anyway, thanks for the podcast…the podcast about LOST…the podcast about LOST in a commentary form…the podcast about LOST in a commentary form that’s part of a grand rewatch…;)

For once my schedule was keeping me from getting to LLD :( But now I’ve had a chance to catch up :) Switzerland?! For two years?!?! That is exciting, as is the apparent advent of LLD 2.0. I’m proud to be one of your faithful dozens of remaining listeners ;) (FYI - the ep. audio was a bit out of sync w/ you guys but I was still able to follow along) As far the last two episodes go:

Maybe Wet Walt just wants a towel… Listening to you guys speculate that we’re supposed to infer that the glass eye belonged to Mikhail (which, on the surface, I’m good with) a new mystery occurred to me. When we finally see behind Mikhail’s eye patch it appears scarred/burned shut, with no cavity in which to place the glass eye. So the question remains – what’s up with the glass eye? There is a video that overlays all the different characters & locations during the crash (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKcKtjrL5bc) – it’s pretty cool. Good call on Jacob scratching Kate’s name from the candidate list due to her poor golf skills :D I got chills just from you guys mentioning the impending Rose & Bernard reunion - it’s that good. I love the idea that by this point in the series Vincent has already marked his territory all over the island, including the light cave, with pee :p For real though, do we really get zero mention of the father of Ana Lucia’s unborn child?! That seems like it could have made for an interesting character/island connection – another LOST opportunity ;) Lastly, I don’t know about Dharmopoly but I love the idea of Lowdownopoly! OK, I look forward to hearing you guys again soon. Thank you!

ps. Mr. Eko is still the best

'What Kate Did'
So maybe all horses everywhere are smoke monsters. Or maybe the horse is the spirit of Shannon. Or the horse's spirit is trapped on The Island because he was an accomplice to Kate in the murder of Wayne. Therefore he's part of The Whispers, and so making him the Horse Whisperer :). Or we can extend Justin's theory that the horse was in on it. The "it" meaning acting as an agent of Jacob's by influencing Kate to The Island. While we're at it, I also like the silly idea that Wayne's voice on The Island are The Whispers localized in Sawyer's mouth. And if Sawyer reminds Kate of Wayne it presents a whole new, weird twist on the show's theme of daddy issues. Another LOST funeral - later Shannanners. Eko's biblical story to Locke hinges on the discovery of "the Book of Law." Interestingly, a "Book of Laws" was presenting to young Locke by Alpert as part of his Dalai Lama-like test. "Don't mistake coincidence for fate" - sweet Eko line.

'Psalm 23'
A pretty good Eko backstory. Good catch on Yemi's entreaty for Eko to confess parallelling his death scene. I believe the plane got to The Island by moving close to Nigeria, one of a series of set locations to which it can move. The Smoke Monster scanning Eko is still one of the best moments in the series. I still don't get the logic of the soldiers, without hesitation, shooting at the plane crew dressed as priests but then unquestioningly accepting the deserted Eko as a legitimate priest. Pretty solid acting chops by Adewale when Eko is finally reunited with his brother (albeit in nasty corpse form). Just think, right under Eko & Charlie's noses is the Pearl (which, now that I think about it, was probably unused since the plane fell on its access hatch). Next up, 'Hunting Party!'

Hunting Party
Nice theory that Tom aging was too quickly, hence the appearance/continuity issues. 'The Father’s Bill of Rights' - HA! absolutely perfect & hilarious. Loved the classic Walt/Locke slip from Claude. You guys may have finally overdid the F(ake-_)____ schtick: Fation, Fomputer, Fichael...maybe a bit too far... The first Geronimo Jackson reference is clearly an indication that the band was a group of Others. As far as I'm concerned you can use the, 'Back home...to your hotel,' line for the remainder of the commentary series. Flashback relevance?

Fire+Water
The origin of ‘Tailies’ as a term is nice from Hurley! While I do appreciate the Charlie/Liam relationship story, most of this episode is pretty much a clunker episode...Driveshaft in diapers...ugh...

The Long Con
It was nice to have another Scott v. Steve confusion moment, being spread to the Tailies :D Yay, Cassidy (although I'll always think of her as Joanie Stubbs from Deadwood)! Best line of the commentary from Claude: "Kate was born to run and Sun was born to run into a tree” - nailed it. I wish they would have pursued a little bit more Evil Charlie - could have been interesting. I'm definitely looking forward to Fenry Gale ;)

And in response to Justin owning incorrect predictions from years ago on other forum posts - don’t worry, Justin, I'm confident your prediction average is at least on par with Carlton & Damon :-)

So you guys are angling to be the last LOST podcast standing, eh? Well you've covered 40 episodes in about 3 years and 3 months so that's puts us on pace to wrap it up right around 2020! I'm with ya all the way, buddies :)

One of Them
I love the fact that you guys basically started with a 20 minute tangent on a virtually unrelated episode from season 5 :-) Happy to finally get to Ben (including his first of many, many beatings)! That fuckin' frog...

Maternity Leave
Here's my summary response to your 30 minute pre-amble/discussion - "Others be crazy." That's enough on that. Also, we got a "breathe" :D Is it somehow possible that there's a connection between Claire's druggy demeanor in this flashback and her season 4 appearance in the cabin? Did she time travel?! Hmmm...perhaps we're onto something...

With so many plot problems when put under scrutiny I really hope that Damon & Carlton (or someone more adept) is preparing for a reboot in ten years' time, rewriting and fixing all of the issues (mabe even improved..it could be so awesome). Then you can keep the podcast going through 2030 :D

Thanks, guys!

The Whole Truth

Bottom line for me - Sun always has and always will suck. Too bad you went the whole episode without using one of Justin's favorite terms - "preggers" ;) Of course it's totally obvious that Michael's the father :D I'm pretty sure this episode's scene of Sun running into a tree got cut and is out there as bonus material... Widmore name drop!...oh, wait, he was totally lame in the end. Perhaps Bopo & Vincent got together in the flash-sideways afterlife... The closing breakfast table scene is one of my favorite Ben moments - amazing :)

Happy New Year! I'm very happy to have new LLD (though I've been a little behind).

Lockdown & Dave
I really appreciated your opening reflections on the birth of the podcast. Once I got into LOST you guys were exactly what I was looking for. Thank you (for the hundredth time)! As for the 'Lockdown,' it's still a classic. You got me to go back and read the entire Blast Door Map for the first time in a long time. I had forgotten a lot of it and was happy to be reminded of o lot of details, including 'a bad plan that can't be changed,' an LLD fave. 'Dave' was pretty forgettable, although I don't have any major issues with it as a light episode (logic aside, of course).

GF and I did a mini-marathon for a quiet New Year's celebration ('?', 'Raised by Another,' 'The Shape of Things to Come,' and 'Flashes Before Your Eyes'). As much BS as there is throughout the show, it's nice to be reminded of how good it still is when they get it right. I'll catch up to 'S.O.S.' podcast soon. Thanks and namaste..and good luck.

S.O.S.

Save Our Show, according to Claude :D Other possibilities: Secrets Of Swan? Shepherd Operates Spines? Shannon's Off-putting Sass? Sayid Opines Sullenly? Sawyer's Over-priced Swag? Smoke-monster Orchestrated Sickness? Sydney Or Suck-it? Sun Ostracizes Squirrel-baby? Savor Our Speculation? Sold Our Souls? Anyway...

I don't have too much to say on this one. I genuinely like Rose & Bernard - there's just something about their relationship that's really touching (when they're not bickering, which, unfortunately, is most of this episode). Wow, they really did kind of drop the the whole 'healing Island' thing after about season 3 (along with the Sickness and the whole pregnancy thing). Overall, a forgettable episode with redeeming LLD commentary.

You already know I'm excited for the LLD lap around 'Two for the Road.' Any chance of the episode that came before it (LOST Middle Earth) ever seeing the light of day again?

Hey Vince, the next podcast and your LLD1 highlight clip should be posted tomorrow.

As far as that original original podcast, it got deleted from the hosting site. So unless Justin or I find a local copy somewhere it's just... LOST

Hey Guys - Awesome couple o' podcasts!

Lost Writers Guide review = 4 1/2 hours = longest LLD since 'The End' = Old School :) :) :) I had no idea the document existed so I definitely appreciate you guys sharing and digging in with excessive thoroughness, as is the LLD tradition. Hands-down highlight was Sawyer surrendering his booty to Jack :D :D :D That'll keep me smiling for a long while.

Glad you enjoyed the highlight reel. I had fun putting it together and hearing the first Claude 'what's not...' segue and the first Justin 'zing!' And you were both, indeed, prescient on several points.

'Two for the Road' was a special ep. for me, with the end being one of the great stunners up to that point in the show (though I actually would have liked Ana Lucia to stick around a bit longer, Libby I could take or leave but I at least wanted her mystery resolved).

Congrats on the podcast lapping itself and thanks for keeping it going!
