Looks like it's going to be the second best season, after the first. Have any of you checked the premiere out?

Poor Dexter, Rita doesn't understand that "work time" is "work time." I mean, she thought he was working late when she wanted him to run to the drug store, and she told him whatever he was doing wasn't that important.

Could you imagine if he really had been working? "Sorry dead girl, I gotta run, baby's got a sniffle. The murderer probably won't kill anyone else in the mean time, right?"

BTW... could have gone a long time without seeing Lithgow's bum. Just saying.

I've enjoyed the season overall. Once they hit Act 2 and it became about the Dexter/Lithgow relationship I realized they WERE repeating the theme of the last 2 seasons. I'll give them credit, they are trying to change it up. Last episode, Quinn (I guess he's a character now) became the new Doakes. I liked the Lundy character, too bad they had to kill him off for the plot. The recent episode opens up the issue of who shot him again. Any clue? None here.

They really blew it with last weeks preview. They gave away the entire plot of this weeks episode, including the ending.
They are still slightly pushing the Quinn=Doakes angle. I assume this will become an issue next season. Maybe they are gearing up to do season 2 "the right way".

The killer reveal was handled pretty well. I was slightly bothered by the reporter actually hearing the name of the trinity suspect, knowing that it is wrong, and not saying anything.
Maybe I believe it for the character, but she must really love her daddy. After what he said to her, I'd expect her to want to hit back, especially since she's planning to kill herself anyway,
so she won't have to deal with a trial or anything like that.

Prediction: Dexter kills trinity, Debra learns a secret, Quinn gets more suspicious.

Are you being sarcastic?

I think it is a good change for the series.

No, not at all. I just said that because 2 out of 3 of my predictions were right, making the finale seem predictable, but then they throw in something I never would have guessed. Looking back on this season, I do think it lacked narrative tension comparable to previous seasons. But, that was an amazing ending. And I agree, it will push the show into an interesting new direction. It also makes this season look a bit different, knowing where it ends up.
