The Lost Lowdown

I find myself using these phrases more because of Claude and Justin:

seemingly
as it were
"PLEASE!"

i use the word "illustrious" more often since lld came into my life.

I find myself not saying preggers or samich.

I have found myself say..."and by ____, I mean _____."

I've incorporated two Justin-isms into my vernacular:

I give my girlfiend points for usages of impressive vocabulary words.
and
I've revitalized my use of 'Zing!'

I aspire to Claude's segues and disclaimers of expertise depsite business cards to the contrary.

Technically "zing" is a Jen-ism via Justin, though I am honored to have even an indirect impact on listener language. I'll try to get him to start saying whippoorwill and cork-nut to take this to another level.

Credit where credit is due: Thanks, Jen, for getting me to love 'zing' again! Hmmm..I can't wait to hear whippoorwhill and cork-nut in context. New idioms for the new Lowdown season, perhaps?

I just heard Jay of Jay and Jack say "seemingly." That's new! Is he listening???

In an in-class-essay today I used "to coin a phrase", which I learned from Claude.

I've taken a turn for the worse.

I've been caught on several occasions stating that I am not in fact a *-ologist. It sometimes garners a laugh, but often people are just confused. Other times it just doesn't work at all.

Friend: Look on the map. Which way is the bridge?
Stephen: What am I, a MAPOLOGIST??
Friend: ...Don't you major in geography?

I find myself taking after Justin and starting almost every response with either "Yeah...no" or "No...yeah".

thank you claude for bringing back 'that don't impress me much' as a response to things that should be impressive.
i'm working on incorporating it into my day to day convos.

i've also started saying 'what the fuck!' in that faux-shocked way that justin does. i love it. it makes me laugh every time.

I do the heh-heh-heh laugh more these days.
