So we finally get confirmation that Christian was MiB. What do you think of this reveal?
I personally always thought this but it really is good to know for sure. It really didn't make sense for Christian to be anything else considering his appearance on the freighter. This does however open up a can of worms when you consider that Jack saw Christian off the island. Was that apparition the real Christian or the smoke monster?
Christian = MiB
Re: Christian = MiB
This explanation isn't consistent with Christian visiting Michael on the freighter, or Christian appearing off-island in the flash-forward.
If Smokey can't travel over water, then how did he get to the freighter?
If Smokey can't leave the island, how did he appear in Jack's office?
If the whispers are the islands dead, then why did they accompany Smokey on the freighter?
Why did Smokey want Locke to leave the island?

David, do you actually expect the answers on LOST to be completely satisfying? I think any answer they give us is bound to be inconsistent with something or another over the past six years... But, you know, it's possible that Christian's 'spirit' is still on the island, like Michael, so maybe Smokey only explains some of his appearances.

Haha, I got home at about 8:15, plopped down in front of the computer, visited this site and casually clicked "view new posts." I was half-alive when I got halfway through the post and realized it's for the episode in 45 minutes. I'm quite glad it was just a semi-minor thing at the beginning of the episode and not a "...LOST..." moment.
I'll comment more later.

It just feels like they're taking an easy out by making single answers fit multiple mysteries. Even when it doesn't make any sense.r10th3r0 wrote:David, do you actually expect the answers on LOST to be completely satisfying? This probably also means that we'll never get a scene with Jack and Chrsitian. A scene I had thought we'd get ever since we first saw Christian walking around the island in season one.

this show has totally turned into the Simpson's Itchy and Scratchy episode where Homer has to field questions at the nerd conference about getting out of the dungeon without the wizard key on the CD-ROM (run on sentence needed). and the xylophone striking the same note but on different ribs.
i agree with David3's comments above.

I see what you are saying but RiotHero's theory that Christian on the boat was ghost makes sense. Another point that supports that theory is that Michael saw Libby's ghost on the freighter which was accompanied by similar whispers. Everyone had been theorizing that Christian was MiB and the fact that it was confirmed was the final step of all the previous clues lining up.David3 wrote:It just feels like they're taking an easy out by making single answers fit multiple mysteries. I think Christian/Jack scene is still possible eventhough the urgency has been reduced due to Jack's alt-reality stuff with which is pretty much Jack getting over his daddy issues by proxy. If Christian's ghost comes and sees Hurley then Jack could have a scene with his father with Hurley acting as an intermediatory, although I won't be surprised if it doesn't happen.
Re: Christian = MiB
I just had a crazy thought about the Smoke Monster. I am not caught up on the podcast so sorry if this is similar anything C&J theorized. It's so dumb I doubt it. It's also so dumb I might be right, this is LOST we are talking about here(I kid... a little bit). We have not seen Locke appear as a ghost to Hurley all season. Why hasn't he, is the real (dead) Locke not capable? I would think he would have some concern over what is taking place on the Island. Although, I know it would probably seem confusing and a trick by the MIB to Hurley. What if the MIB's power is not to take the form of, but to literally possess the spirits of the dead? Is that why Locke seems to have influence over MIB? Is that why we have not seen Smokey transform? Has this possibility been discussed anywhere? Is there such a thing as too many rhetorical questions? Can someone give Donald Rumsfeld a call? I don't think this idea that is much more absurd than any other idea, maybe it's not so dumb. Alright, I've said enough.
edit: Eh, maybe I should use the word control instead of possess, a spirit inhabiting a spirit is some kind of Matryoshka Doll nonsense.
