Re: Will The Flashes Become More Violent, Stop?
not really that SPOILER y (I reference the enhanced presentation of 4x13) I agree with the DHARMA Initiative setting for the next chapter of our characters' adventures. However, I suspect it might be early 80's rather than the 70's for two reasons: we'll need to see young Charlotte and she should ha...

Re: Penny = Toast?
I fear the opposite. When I rewatched Des's first flashback ep. ('Live Together, Die Alone' I think) a few months back I was struck by the Dickens book, 'Our Mutual Friend', seen on more than one occasion. Des tells the prison clerk it will be the last thing he reads before he dies. Clerk says, some...

Nominee for Worst Line Ever:
"That's why I became an anthropologist."
The writers really shoe-horned Charlotte's info rather clumsily.

Re: General Reactions
I wanna believe that Ben is "good" but my brain says "don't buy it." Ben's motivations regarding moving The Island are unclear. Locke told Ben that Jacob said "we have to move The Island." Actually, it was Christian who told Locke this. Also, Christian claimed he could speak on Jacob's behalf. Is he...

Re: General Reactions
My coworkers finally gave me some good post-LOST talk. They actually pulled me into the ping pong room to do some 'splainin'. Here's what they jogged loose from my brain: When Montand was pulled into The Temple (yes, I'm pretty sure it was specifically referred to as a temple) he was dead. The call ...

Re: Widmore!
I'm not conVINCEd of the relationship between DHARMA and ol' Chuck Widmore. I think there's more evidence pointing to the Hansos (Alvar, Magnus, & Tovar) as the powerful millionaire(s) with a past connection to The Island funding DHARMA. Speaking of powerful industrialists, will we learn that Paik h...

Re: Ellie
not really *** SPOILER ish*** (but, out of respect to relative standards...) I agree 100%. The real question is - who is Faraday's father? Widmore?! Was Daniel born on The Island? When, why & how did Ellie leave the Island. (ps-the enhanced presentation of The Lie gave Mrs. hawking a first name: Elo...

Re: Time Travel
I think this season's theme of time travel begins to shed light on one of last season's more mysterious lines. So far we've heard from Pierre Chang and Farraday that there are limitations to what can be done with time travel - rules. In 'Flashes Before Your Eyes' we heard Mrs. Hawking tell Des about...

Choo-Choo Tunnel
OK, I thought it was a crappy throw-away line, too. But C & J got me thinking. Here's the lines: AARON: Choo choo tunnel. KATE: [smiling] No, I think choo choo knows better than that. He goes into that tunnel he's never coming back home. Here's my interpretation: It's an analogy for returning to The...

Re: Temporal Motion
There's now 3 kinds of time travel: 1)Take the wrong bearing coming to The Island and go forward in time (the payload rocket or the DHARMA palette drops). 2)Consciousness time travel ala Desmond, Minkowski, Eloise, etc. 3)On-Island Record-Needle-Skipping-Time-Travel (note the correlation to Dr. Cand...

Re: All about Mrs Hawking!!
Keep in mind the connection: Widmore bought wine from the monks and the head monk is in a picture with Mrs. Hawking. The head monk sent Desmond to meet Penny but it was Mrs. Hawking who told Desmond he had to be in The Hatch to push The Button and dissuaded him from proposing to Penny.

Re: Temporal Motion
The drug plane indicates The Island was in a Nigerian locale circa (?). When were the events of Eko, Yemi, and the plane? 2003? The time that Eko posed as a priest could not have been equivalent to the time it took for the bodies from the plane to decompose as we found them in 2004. "Now, I'm not an...

Re: Who's the butcher?
Jill. Her name is Jill. (Justin's pet-peeve writing technique #17) Seriously, though - I'm getting the impression that there's an entire secret network of people who understand The Island: Ben, Jill the Butcher, Mrs. Hawking, the yet-to-be-seen Gabriel & Jeffrey. Anyway, Ben gave her Locke's body fo...

OK, I'll kick this one off. Is it the Losties or The Island itself that is/are skipping through time? I don't think it really matters for anyone on-Island, but it would for anyone off-Island. For example, if The Island is skipping through time and The Six returned they would be on The Island of a di...

Why did Hurley lie to Walt about Michael being alive?

How will The Oceanic Six get back to The Island?
When/how will Locke and Abaddon meet again?
What, exactly, is the relationship between Abaddon and Widmore?

Re: How have Claude and Justin affected your vernacular?
I've incorporated two Justin-isms into my vernacular:
I give my girlfiend points for usages of impressive vocabulary words.
and
I've revitalized my use of 'Zing!'
I aspire to Claude's segues and disclaimers of expertise depsite business cards to the contrary.
