The Lost Lowdown

It's strange that Ben shows up in the desert wearing a Dharma issued parka. It makes you question where he came from or if he knew where he was going. At first I assumed that he teleported from the Orchid station straight to the desert, but I re-watched the scene and noticed a few things that may change that assumption.

1. He seems to be shivering.

2. He lets out a big breath of air and if you watch closely you can see it, as if he let out a breath of really cold air.

3. The cut on his arm looks like it has a few specks of ice or snow around it.

4. He's wearing a freakin' winter jacket.

Basically, I think he just came from somewhere cold. Either his time/teleporting machine is cold or he didn't come from the island.

I would say the the Orchid has a freezer you go into that has a teleportation machine in it. Maybe for things to work you can't have any sweat on you?

Perhaps the "time machine" uses superconductors, which require sub-zero temperatures.

Or perhaps Ben was just being prepared and didn't want to land in the desert at night, in which case it would be absolutely freezing.
